By the support of International Organization for Migration , in the scope of Trafficking Prevention Project a training course _”The trafficking” was held for the teachers of Civic Education .(trainer –M.Jincharadze) The teachers were introduced to a model lesson, and were given the text-books of IX-X grades.
On December 5, pupils of grade IV-3 with their head teacher T.Svanadze organized a study-excursion : Kutaisi-Geguti-Vartsikhe- Kutaisi. Aim: View the ruins of the palace Geguti, to learn the history of the palace, to observe a Hydro-electric power station . Pupils spoke about the history of Geguti palace and then visited Vartsikhe Hydro-electric power station . An engineer Noe Gabriadze told the children about the necessity of waterworks.
In the scope of the World AIDS Day a conference was held on the subject- "Healthy lifestyle” (teacher of Biology M.Kashakashvili). In the conference were involved 8 and 11th graders of the school: I.Kldiashvili, M.Khvadagiani, L.Shavrashidze, Sh.Kakauridze, M. On November 25 the presentation of the Civic Education and Teacher Training Program was held.Civic Education and Teacher Training program is jointly initiated by the USAID and PH International. The program is designed to improve the quality of the school program in civic education and assist the youth to advance knowledge, change opinions and behavior, and actively involve them in the development of democratic society. Kutaisi Education Development and Employment Center has launched new project: "Youth for Civic Education and Community involvement” The project was initiated by World Vision Georgia and World Vision Romania, with the support of UNDP. The aim of the project is to support and raise awareness through community involvement of Georgian and Rumanian youth .Also, to provide both with information and skills on democratic society, civic involvement and advocacy. Three basic objectives were considered by the project: support of civic education and community development, teaching youth advocacy methods, involvement of Georgian and Rumanian youth in a global youth network.

Children visited the Botanical Garden, saw coniferous and deciduous trees, discussed the peculiarities of the nature in autumn. They collected natural materials: cones and leaves of different colour and size, which are used at the art lesson.
In the frame of the week, the web-site competition "How Well Do We Know Akaki’s Works”was held as well. The test was posted on the official web-site of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia for the students of Public schools. Event Dedicated to 170th Anniversary of A. Tsereteli In the frame of the week dedicated to the 170th Anniversary of A. Tsereteli organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the Department of Foreign Languages of Public school #17 held the event. Students read Akaki Tsereteli’s poems translated into the Russian and English languages. An American Teacher –Brian Patz was actively involved in the event. He sang the famous song "Suliko " in the Georgian language.

Resource Officers enter the school In the scope of the President’s initiative "Safe School” program certified resource officers entered the school. The resource officers will guarantee the safety in schools. The group of Guards is composed of 2 men and one woman. They passed the training in the framework of the Safe School. The Guards fully developed the skills to prevent conflicts, crime and provide the schoolchildren with any kind of help.
They have no right of punishment and are obliged to care for the security of the children. The Guards are located in the rooms, equipped with the informational technologies.
